Brooklyn Greenway Initiative is a 20-year-old non-profit organization founded by people in Brooklyn to provide safe, protected pathways for all to walk, run, and bike between Brooklyn’s waterfront communities and have better waterfront access.

When finished, the Greenway will safely connect 29 miles along the waterfront from Greenpoint to Shirley Chisholm Park in East New York. As of 2025, 22 miles of the corridor are minimally complete.
