This fabric swatch catalog includes a total of 11 fiber art experiments. These smaller artifacts are part of a thesis exploration that, in part, looks at the dialogue between the designer and their material. While the samples vary in method and materiality, they all had one thing in common: the parts that stood out were those that are typically obscured in the making process — the charming tangle of knots or mistakes on the “wrong side” of the work. The involved nature of these analog practices are highlighted by the use of embroidery for various book design elements, such as the page numbers.
