DSKD x Pratt: Design for Play

This project began with a conversation about the role of AI in our world. The goal? Explore the complexities of this issue in a way that didn’t shy away from absurdity and playfulness.

In thinking about how AI creeps closer and closer into the realm of human behavior and productivity, we were left to wonder what it would look like to inhabit the generative AI space. Leaning into the playfulness of the project ask, we created a brand that markets “handmade” capabilities in the AI sphere by essentially making humans “artificial”.

When prompting ChatGPT to describe an AI function for creating by hand, it responded by focusing on “intricate movements and decision-making processes” to create “unique and detailed creations”. In our respective practices as designers, we have amassed a lot of experience working in physical mediums. With this in mind, we thought about how hAInd could help share this knowledge with AI.
